Yes, we know this weekend is the All About Downtown Food Fair, but before Saturday’s gorge-fest there’s a full week of events taking place around town. From yoga at Departed Soles to a (vegan) dinner and movie at Tea NJ, here are your top things to do this week.
Tuesday: Tap into your inner Bob Ross at The Hutton’s Paint & Sip class, held in collaboration with Hoboken’s Wine & Design. Tickets to the event are $35/pp and admission includes a complimentary glass of wine, art supplies, and step-by-step instructions to help you create your own 16×20 acrylic painting.
Tuesday: Love music that makes you feel heart broken even when you’re not? Head to PS Wine Bar for Depeche Mode Goth Night — because nothing beats 80s goth.
Wednesday: Yoga and beer. It’s a match made in heaven, or in this case — Departed Soles. The downtown brewery will host a 1-hour yoga class held by Hoboken yogi and musician James Calleo. The class will be followed up with a pint of DS beer. Class + beer cost $10. Namaste!
Wednesday: Tea NJ is hosting a special vegan Dinner & a Movie night in conjunction with the Environmentalist Animal Rights Team of Hoboken (EARTH). The event will include a vegan dinner and screening of What the Health, a documentary that uncovers the collusion between industry, government, pharmaceutical, and health organizations.
Wednesday: Interested in personal training? Maximum Motion Fitness is offering a 6-month trainer certification course starting in October. A free info session (where you can ask questions, etc) will be held today for anyone interested in helping others hit their fitness goals.
Thursday: With every workout comes the need for a little pampering. Growing in Jersey City, A Green Unicorn, and Loosen Up JC are teaming up for Back-to-School Pampering — a day of healthy eats, massages, and acupuncture. Tickets are $35/pp.
Thursday: Believe it or not, but October is right around the corner and that means one thing — Oktoberfest! Satis Oktoberfest is a 4-course dinner paired with four unique beers. Tickets are $50/pp and dinner starts at 7:30pm.
