From a mint julep class to a 90s-themed night at Midnight Market — here’s a rundown of the best Jersey City events this week.
Free Adoptions at Liberty Humane Society (Tuesday – Sunday)
It’s Pet Appreciation Month and the LHS is celebrating with free adoptions on all pups (over 40 lbs.) and all cats (over 4 months old). Help Ohana find a new home, meet friendly Tom, or let Ace wiggle his way into your heart (and home).
Mint Julep Class at Liberty House (Wednesday)
The Kentucky Derby may be over, but — in my book at least — it’s always Mint Julep season. The bartenders at Liberty House will teach you how to make the perfect Mint Julep during this cocktail class. The cost is $45/pp and includes light bites.
Belly Dance Show at Uncle Momo (Thursday)
French-Lebanese restaurant Uncle Momo is hosting its third Belly Dance Show/Dinner. Reservations are required and the show starts at 7pm. Jersey City Events
Paint and Bubble Tea Night at Sagoto (Thursday)
Sagoto Bubble Tea World is hosting a 2-hour Paint & Bubble Tea Night teaching guests everything there is to know about acrylic painting. The class is open to all and admission is $30/pp (it includes all materials and a house milk tea).
Bergen Arches Fundraiser at Loew’s Theater (Thursday)
The Bergen Arches is a historic, 17-acre space in Jersey City once used for trains. The Journal Square Community Association is looking to turn the abandoned space into a Highline-style park for Jersey City residents. Tonight’s concert/fundraiser will help the JSCA raise funds for its cause. Tickets are $25/pp.
90s Night at Midnight Market (Friday)
Midnight Market is back for another chill night of local eats and drinks. This month they’re celebrating all things 90s, so expect it to be dope as ever. Plus, enjoy grilled Argentinean meats from Master Asador. Tickets are $5/pp at the door if you get there from 6:30pm to 7:30pm or $10/pp general admission. It’ll be all that and a bag of chips.
