It’s a week of farewells as we celebrate the last week of the Grove Farmers’ Market and the final LSC After Dark of the year. Plus, start off your holiday weekend with a cookie decorating class by Jersey City Sweets hosted at Corgi Spirits.
Holiday Market at Grove Street (Monday/Thursday)
This Monday and Thursday are the last two farmers’ markets of the season. However, they’ll also be the biggest as they’ll be joined by the Holiday Artist & Maker Market, which will feature local jewelry, art, bath/beauty products, and more for your holiday gift-giving needs. The holiday market will run from 4pm to 8pm on Monday and Thursday.
Holiday RAWK Show at Cathedral Hall (Wednesday)
RAW New Jersey is an indie arts organization that spotlights local artists specializing in visual art, film, fashion/design, music, makeup artistry, and photography. Their one-night Holiday RAWK Show at Cathedral Hall will include the work of these boundary-pushing artists. Tickets are $22/pp.
Winter Carnival & Market at Cathedral Hall (Wednesday)
The Winter Carnival & Market is a 4-night market with live music, food, drinks, and local crafts. The Market kicks off Wednesday night with the Holiday RAWK Show (mentioned above) and continues through Saturday night.
Lyrics & Poetry Night at PS Wine Bar (Wednesday)
PS Wine Bar is celebrating the release of Jon Curley’s new poetry book — Scorch Marks — with a Lyrics vs. Poetry Night. There will be poetry readings, lyrics readings, and, naturally, drink specials.
Science, Sweets, & Ugly Sweaters at LSC (Thursday)
The time has come to celebrate the final LSC After Dark of the year. Midnight Market will be on hand with local eats ($5 per plate), eggnog-flavored liquid nitrogen ice cream, and a sangria bar. Plus, you’ll get the chance to tour (and watch a show) at the new Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium.
Barcade celebrates winter beers (Thursday)
Like it or not — winter is coming, so Barcade is celebrating with a special Winter Beer Night where they’ll offer the best beers to keep you warm during the winter. Kegs will be tapped at noon and the beer list includes IPAs, ciders, barley wine, stouts, and red ales.
Cookies & Cocktails with Jersey City Sweets at Corgi Spirits (Saturday)
Start your long weekend with some holiday cookies and cocktails. Jersey City Sweets will be teaching a Cookie Cottage Decorating Class at Corgi Spirits this Saturday at 2pm. Admission is $65/pp and includes a cookie cottage kit, recipes, and decorations. Plus, students get 10% off any Corgi bottles purchased at the event.
