New month, new events! From a surf & turf festival at Zeppelin Hall to a new beer release at Departed Soles — here’s the best of what’s happening in JC this first week of April.
Surf & Turf Fest at Zeppelin Hall (through April 21)
Chopped champion Franco Robazetti is bringing some of his winning Chopped dishes to Zeppelin Hall for its first Surf & Turf Barbecue Fest. The menu includes Smoked Chicken Wings, BBQ Jumbo Shrimp, and Short Rib with Lobster.
Melvin Brewing at Würstbar (Tuesday)
Wyoming’s award-winning Melvin Brewing will be on tap at Würstbar tonight. Available beers include 2×4 Double IPA, Melvin IPA, Hubert MPA, and Hubert & Ruckus.
Collage Art Class at Frankie (Tuesday)
Calling all artists! Collage artist and teacher, Deming Harriman, is hosting Frankie’s first Collage Workshop. Admission to the class is $20/pp and includes all the materials you need to create your own collage art.
Departed Soles Vince McCahon Release (Wednesday)
Get over the mid-week slump with Vince McCahon, a new American light lager by Departed Soles. It’s DS’ first foray into “super light, crisp, and easy drinking craft beer.”
Art Reception at Choc-O-Pain in the Heights (Wednesday)
Choc-O-Pain (Heights) is hosting an art exhibition showcasing the work of Hoboken artist, Lou Carbone. Refreshments and champagne will be served during the reception.
Cabaret Night at The Parlor (Thursday)
Cabaret comes to The Parlor as Lydia Vengeance hosts The Ashford’s first Cabaret Thursday. The show will include burlesque performers and plenty of Prohibition-inspired cocktails. RSVP is required (e-mail events@theashfordjc.com).
Poetry Slam at LITM (Thursday)
Watch — or participate — in LITM’s Jersey City Poetry Slam. Up to eight poets will battle it out for the title of “best poet in JC.” The theme is: “what would you take with you?”
Jack’s Abby and Springdale Brewing at Barcade (Thursday)
Massachusetts-based brewery Jack’s Abby and sister brewery Springdale Beer are launching in the Garden State. To celebrate, Barcade is dedicating an entire night to their beers. The tap list includes: Jack’s Abby House Lager, Jack’s Abby Heavy Trommel, Springdale Shrub Life, and more.
Corgi Spirits Spring Cocktail Launch (Friday)
