Tucked inside Dullboy is the BattleCat Espresso Bar, a laid-back speakeasy for all of your coffee-based needs. Starting this Sunday, owner Kevin Leal will debut the BattleCat Tea Room, a casual spot where locals can gather for afternoon tea.
We attended the BattleCat Tea Room soft opening last Sunday and enjoyed a jazz-filled afternoon of tea and pastries. For the event, Leal has curated a four-course assortment of savory and sweet bites, which includes the most perfect scones and cookies by Bean’s Bakeshop and an incredible Earl Grey cake with lemon cream by Union Square Events executive pastry chef Erin Kanagy-Loux. The menu may slightly change with each event, but here are a few bites you can look forward to.
- Beignets and croissants by L’atelier du chocolat
- Scones, cookies, and jam by Bean’s Bakeshop
- Cake by Union Square Events pastry chef Erin Kanagy-Loux
To attend this Sunday’s event, you must RSVP through BattleCat’s Instagram account (just shoot them a DM). Admission is $45/pp. If you can’t make Sunday’s event, the BattleCat Espresso Bar is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 7am to 3pm at Dullboy (364 Grove).
