Battello is getting ready for its grand reopening.
The Italian, seafood-focused restaurant closed abruptly for pier repairs during the summer of 2017 and has remained closed since.
However, an update on the restaurant’s Instagram account indicates that Battello is interviewing new staff on January 2nd and January 3rd with the hopes of reopening in early 2019.
Chef and owner Ryan DePersio — of Jersey City’s The Kitchen Step and Montclair’s Fascino — has also posted some Battello teasers on his account.
Prior to this latest news, the restaurant’s last update — posted on its homepage — was back in October when they reported that pier repairs were near complete, but still delayed due to the increased number of hurricanes this past fall.
Battello received a solid review from the New York Times back in 2014 and has remained an institution for fans of fine dining in New Jersey and New York.
