The wait is almost over. Jersey City-based Baonanas is opening its first dessert shop at 181 Monticello Avenue by the end of spring.
According to Baonanas’ latest blog post, the Monticello shop will be open 7 days a week and offer up to 12 different Baonanas flavors. Later this summer, the Baonanas shop will offer fair trade coffee/tea, specialty drinks, and other baked goods.
Baonanas offers deliciously addictive banana puddings with flavors that run the gamut from Nutella-Walnut to Ube. The fluffy desserts are popular not just in Jersey City, but across the Hudson at Brooklyn’s Smorgasbord festival.
Last year, Baonanas won a Vendy Award for best Dessert Vendor. Most recently, they set up shop in Harborside’s District Kitchen. (Their Harborside storefront will open in the coming weeks).
Here in Jersey City, their desserts can be found at a variety of spots from Hooked in Bergen Lafayette to Word Cafe by Grove.
The Baonanas shop on Monticello will open in May to mid-June.
