After opening a massive ice cream factory in Red Hook this past summer, New York’s Ample Hills Creamery is ready to make its Jersey City debut.
The ice cream purveyor will open its first New Jersey location at 200 Greene Street — in the base of the Jersey City Urby tower — this Friday at 12pm.
Ample Hills specializes in small batch ice cream and ice cream cakes with decadent and seasonal flavors like Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, Mexican Hot Chocolate, and Chocolate Milk & Cookies. It’s the official ice cream of the Star Wars film franchise with two Star Wars flavors expected to debut this December. It’s also been named one of New York’s best ice cream shops by Zagat.
Run by husband and wife team Brian Smith and Jackie Cuscuna, Ample Hills Creamery gets its cream and eggs from local farms in New York to provide the freshest and most sustainable ice cream possible.
To celebrate its arrival in Chilltown, Ample Hills will offer the first 100 scoops of ice cream on the house.
