The Junto Attic Bar has all the hallmarks of an excellent speakeasy. It’s got candle-lit tables, velvet banquettes, and one of the best cocktail menus you’ll find in the tri-state area. That cocktail menu is now available everyday as The Junto Attic Bar has announced it’s now open 7 days a week from 6pm to 1am.
Hidden above the Franklin Social Jersey City, The Junto Attic Bar feels like one of those hole-in-the-wall NYC jazz haunts of yore complete with a fireplace and intricate stained glass window that overlooks the bar area.
Music at The Junto is jazz-heavy. Think Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. There are no TVs (thank goodness) and unlike many downtown establishments, you won’t have to scream above others to partake in any conversation. (There’s no standing room area, which also helps keep the noise level down).
In terms of cocktails, the leather-bound menu includes spirits that span the globe. Cocktails are broken down into sections: Stirred & Strong, Bright & Confident, and Hint of Spice. The menu also features a section called Dealer’s Choice where you let the bartender create a personalized cocktail based on the spirit, flavor profile, and glassware of your choice.
Yes, there’s beer and wine — and even a mocktail section — but you should really try the cocktails. (Cocktails cost around $16). They’ve also recently added a limited snacks menu with spiced nuts, herbed popcorn, and a small charcuterie plate.
