The All About Downtown Food Festival is the premiere food fest in Jersey City. This year, the festival will extend to Coles Street (traditionally it has ended on Jersey Avenue), which means more space for new vendors. For the first time, you’ll also find vendors on Jersey Avenue (between Newark and Columbus Drive) and First Street (between Jersey Avenue and Coles Street), including a new “Coffee Zone.” (You can check out an official map here).
As always, the star of the show will be the food, and below we’ve highlighted a few vendors we’re excited to see.
Vegetarians are typically an afterthought at most food festivals, but this recently-opened dive bar is making veggies the ingredient du jour at their table. While they haven’t released an official menu yet, expect to see a delicious, all-veggie offering from the gang at Pet Shop.
House of Gains’ excellent poke bowls have made their rounds throughout Jersey City this past year, but now those protein-packed bowls will be making their Newark Avenue debut.
Chef Ryan DePersio’s The Kitchen Step will make its Downtown Food Fest debut on Saturday. Expect to see a menu of fresh, market-inspired American cuisine from this neighborhood bistro.
If Atlas’ menu sneak peek has left you craving for more, the new restaurant will offer a tease of its internationally-inspired cuisine this weekend. On the menu will be char-grilled lamb burger with feta, tomato, and tzatziki along with a selection of craft beers — including Departed Soles’ Ghost of Pumpkins Passed.
South House is no stranger to the Downtown Food Fest, but this year they’re going all out and offering an “Austin style” country beer garden complete with hay couches and, of course, plenty of beer.

I’m assuming it’s this Saturday based on the beer garden ad? Correct?
Is it this Saturday the 17th?
Yup! This Saturday from 11am – 6pm.
