**The Westfiled shopping center inside the new $4 billion Oculus transportation hub will open today at 12pm. A free “Family Day” celebration will run from 12pm till 6pm and include hourly performances inside the mall.
DNAinfo reports that performances will include the Harlem Gospel Choir and the cast of the Broadway show “School of Rock.”
There will also be multiple freebies from various retailers. Eataly, for example, will offer free pasta-making workshops throughout the day, whereas Sugarfina will have candy sampling, and Devon & Blakely will offer customers free coffee all week.
Overall, 112 stores are expected to open over the next year. Retailers expected to open on Tuesday include H&M, Banana Republic, John Varvatos, Kate Spade, and a new flagship Apple Store. —Westfield Mall
**Closer to home, tonight is Cellar 335’s official opening. The restaurant and bar will offer Asian American cuisine and tiki style cocktails in the heart of Jersey City’s Village neighborhood. The restaurant will open at 5pm and close at 2am. —Cellar 335
**This Thursday is Liberty Science Center’s Dancing with Drones event. The event is part of the LSC After Dark series — a series of adult (21+) events where guests can enjoy cocktails, food, music, dancing, laser shows, and more. The events are held the third Thursday of every month. This week’s event will include drone races, beer, wine, cocktails, and small plates. Tickets are $15 per person.
