Jersey City’s first table tennis club is opening this weekend in Newport.
Developed by Olympic table tennis champion Wang Chen, the Wang Chen Table Tennis Club will open its doors for the first time this Saturday at 10am giving residents a sneak peek at the new facility and a chance to meet Wang Chen herself.
Located at 31 River Drive South, the Newport club will be Wang Chen’s third table tennis facility to date. The first club opened in 2004 in New York’s Upper West Side neighborhood. A second club is located in Westwood, New Jersey.
The new 31,000 square foot club will offer local residents access to professional coaches, leagues for advanced competitive play, and after-school programs for children.
Membership will cost $45/per month or you can drop in and play hourly at $8/per person per hour. Alternatively, a day pass will cost $15 per person. The club will be open Mondays through Fridays from 3pm to 10pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 10pm.
