Jersey City’s first Australian-influenced restaurant is ready for its big debut.
We attended Frankie’s soft opening last week and got a sneak peek at the food, the drinks, and the drop-dead gorgeous decor. We assure you the vibe at Frankie’s will be unlike any other. The murals, the tiles, and the soft colors all work in tandem to create a tropical vibe that’s equal parts cool and laid back.
As for the food, there’s no official menu yet, but we think the fish and chips is stellar — perfectly fried to the point where you can still taste the flakiness of the fish. The warm flatbread with yogurt is an equally delicious and addictive appetizer.
Drinks — such as a mezcal-based punch — were potent without burning your insides. And the wines are all small batch/organic.
Frankie will open Thursday for dinner. Here’s a quick tour of what you can expect.
