Say goodbye to Raval and hello to Pasta e Vino. Downtown’s only Spanish tapas restaurant is being replaced with a new Italian restaurant specializing in homemade pasta and wine.
Since its debut back in May of 2015, Raval has undergone quite a few renovations. At the start of 2016, the Newark Avenue restaurant unexpectedly closed as it worked to remove its cool Gaudi-inspired benches in favor of traditional stools and tables. This past May, the restaurant launched its underground cocktail bar and lounge, Red at Raval, which frequently hosts local DJs and weekend events.
Now Raval’s management wants to try a completely new concept with a new menu and focus — homemade Italian food and wine.
Pasta e Vino is expected to open sometime during the first week of October.
