In the News: NY & NJ Continue Feud Over Proposed Hudson Rails, Mayor Fulop Takes on PSE&G

**The subway tunnels that currently connect NY and NJ are in dire need of repairs, but shutting them down for maintenance would be a “transportation Armageddon,” says New York Senator Chuck Schumer. For a new tunnel to be built New York, New Jersey, Amtrak, NJ Transit, The Port Authority, the federal government, and even Congress need to cooperate. This could affect us all, regardless which side of the Hudson you live in. —NYT

**Hundreds of residents were left without water Monday due to a water main break on Warren Street that extended from Dudley Street to Warren Street. The break occurred Monday afternoon and according to United Water’s website, the water main was repaired by 10.15pm. —ABC7, United Water

**The 15th annual Jersey City LGBT Pride Festival will kick off this Thursday and wrap up with a pride festival on Saturday, August 29th. This Thursday will be the Pride Flag raising at Brennan Courthouse from 5 pm to 5.30 pm. A similar flag raising will take place this Friday at City Hall on Grove Street. —NJ.com

**Mayor Steve Fulop has put a temporary halt to all non-essential PSE&G work until the utility company agrees to adhere to a new city law that requires contractors to leave newly paved roads as they found them. Take a walk through any part of downtown Jersey City and you’ll see just what Fulop is talking about. —NJ.com

**”Show Some Love” is a group art exhibit that is currently looking for submissions (photographs, artwork writing, etc.) that can be showcased this fall at Project Greenville in the Greenville section of Jersey City. Deadline for submissions is August 31. Hit the link for more details. —NJ.com
