Health conscious foodies will soon have a new place to dine. DC-based Cava Grill is coming to downtown Jersey City.
The popular “fast-casual restaurant” is opening at 30 Montgomery (corner of Greene). Founded by three childhood friends, Cava Grill is like a Greek version of Sweetgreen, specializing in healthy, seasonal Greek and Mediterranean food.
Currently, there’s a Cava restaurant near Union Square in New York. They offer a mix of soups, salads, pitas, and fresh juices. What makes them different is that they let you customize your salad/grain bowl (either in person or via an app) with traditional Mediterranean ingredients like lamb meatballs, falafel, green harissa, and roasted red hummus.
We’ve reached out to Cava for an opening date, but if you’re curious and want to give them a try, you can find a few Cava products — such as their hummus, harissa, and feta — at your local Whole Foods stores.
Inc also has an interesting article on the quick growth of Cava and how the company uses data to build better experiences for its workers and customers.
